Apple is likely following Samsung into the portable virtual reality world.
LA Gadgets Examiner
On Wednesday morning, 9to5mac.com talked about Apple's plans for virtual reality. They expanded on the recently announced job posting
that hinted of Apple's future virtual reality plans. We discussed this
article with Los Angeles Industry Analyst Paul Mueller, who frequently
contributes to this column.

"The next iPhone will definitely be virtual reality ready. Apple will come out with a headset like Samsung
is doing for the Galaxy Note 4. Except Apple's will be a lot more
advanced with real-time motion tracking. The screen door effect will
also be reduced as the next iPhone will have a resolution that's higher
than Quad HD," Mueller claims. He believes that this will be the case
with the iPhone 7 Plus and not the regular iPhone 7.
Mueller works with several people who are very familiar with what
Apple is doing behind the scenes. In the past, he has given us exclusive
information about Apple and most of it has come true. "Some may
criticize Apple for holding off on their virtual reality set a year
after Samsung introduced theirs. But that won't be a problem. Apple's
headset will be perfected; it won't be a beta version of virtual reality
like the Gear VR," Mueller continues.
Mueller isn't trying to insult Samsung and the Gear VR; he is very
impressed with it. Even Samsung admits that the Gear VR is not a full
consumer version and is mostly for developers. It will be interesting to
see how much Samsung has improved their Gear VR headset by the time
Apple releases theirs next year.
